I think I have finally found a yoga studio to replace CorePower Brentwood (which was removed from ClassPass). I was expecting a slow-paced flow class (and to be quite honest, a lot of yoga classes bore me with the repetitive flow sequences) but that was definitely not what I got. Marxel’s class was 45 minutes of non-stop, high intensity yoga (and once you’ve taken the class, you’ll know that is not an oxymoron). There wasn’t a single second where I was bored because I was trying to fight through the burn the entire time. This class is comparable to CorePower’s sculpt class, but arguably harder, though with out the heat and 15 minutes shorter so that it is bearable. Though, they also have a heated class called YogaFit Sweat so I can’t wait to try that one.
We did jump squats with weights, running in place with weights, side lunges, back flies, abs and glute work with a ball and many more sweat-inducing, heart-pumping exercises. On the YogaFit scale, this class is rated a difficulty 3 out of 3 – hard. But, it was an amazing workout and you get your first week free so I will be back to try out all the other classes. The studio itself is pretty new and clean, and there is metered parking out front and validated parking at the VA lot.
