I have been wanting to try AIR after seeing some cool pictures, but have been scared to after a not-so-pleasant aerial yoga experience at Jagged dance studio. Luckily, AIR was SO MUCH BETTER. My instructor was Anna and I thought she was great, but my roommate took AIR Foundation with Whitney the week before and preferred her class. In Anna’s class, she interspersed the workouts between trying different poses. I really enjoyed learning all the cool aerial tricks even though some of them were painful. I also broke a small sweat so it was nice that this is actually a workout (unlike the Jagged class I took).
From what I’ve heard, each class has different poses you can learn, so it won’t be the same from class to class and instructor to instructor. I also really enjoyed the individual help and attention the instructor gave, along with the post-class photo opp that was offered. I will definitely be back after my body heals from the “silk burn,” which can be alleviated somewhat if you come out of poses slowly when possible.
