I’ve been curious about “The Class” for a while now and finally got to try it during a Coveteur x Juice Served Here event. For this particular event, the class was held on a rooftop at the Platform in Culver City, but normally, this class would be in a studio setting.
The premise of the class is for the participant to release any mental constraints and get to a “primal” level of movement. There is a lot of shouting (guided by instructor), unpracticed movements and positive energy to not worry about what you look or sound like while working out. I have to admit this was a little weird to just “let it all go” as I’m generally pretty self conscious! The class is set to music and the instructor guides you through the mental and physical components of each activity. We were all on our own mats for the class, and there was not much movement outside of our mat area. However, on the mats, we jumped, we stretched, we did push-ups, sit-ups and burpees so it was a full body workout. It was definitely an interesting experience unlike other classes I’ve taken, but in terms of the workout, I would compare it to a mat pilates class with a little bit more cardio incorporated.
The event was followed by tastings of Juice Served Here’s new juice collaboration with Coveteur as well as light bites!
